1st grade made brownies after discussing goods and services in social studies. We talked about goods that are produced in Iowa and goods that are imported in so we can still have and make the things we want like chocolate, we have to trade to get cocoa powder in order to make brownies since Iowa doesn't produce cocoa beans.

4th grade was lucky enough to have Walt Mason of Fareway in Hampton to come visit! He explained his job and how Fareway supplies their customers with a large variety of meat products! Walt helped our students make connections to their learning about turkey farming, supply chains, as well as supply and demand. He also did a fantastic job fielding lots of meat counter questions! Opportunities such as this is just one way our students are able to have authentic learning experiences; thank you!
