1st grade enjoyed graphing with the bee bots. We graphed different hours of daylight in different areas for science!

❄️❄️Snowball fight! 4th grade practiced our multi digit multiplication with a really fun activity today. ❄️❄️

More information will be coming soon for the details on the science fair!
2nd grade has been busy preparing for their science fair! They began by creating a materials list for the experiment that they will be investigating!

3rd grade began their unit on life cycles, adaptations, and genetic traits! They are starting by researching how the life cycles of animals in our school are unique and diverse, but also all include birth, growth, reproduction, and death. Students are researching using their iPads and library texts!

1st grade has been learning about stars in reading. They have also been learning about the sky and stars in science. Today during innovation club, students got to view the sky from different places in the world using our virtual reality goggles!

2nd grade students started their morning working together to complete puzzles.

1st grade enjoyed donuts for reaching their PBIS reward and had juice boxes with it for doing well on a reading and a math test!

4th grade has been learning about energy and energy transfer in science. They have discussed that when thermal energy (heat) is present it means molecules are moving fast. Today they experimented with food coloring dispersion in different temperatures of water…. That were able to see that the fast moving molecules in very hot water dispersed the dye more evenly and much more quickly than the slow moving molecules in ice water. This was a fun hands on lesson!

2nd grade students have been learning about life cycles in Reading. Yesterday, they wrote informational paragraphs about the stages in a frog’s life cycle.

Due to the impending weather for this afternoon we will not be gathering for Cookies and Conversation. We hope to see you all in February.

Mr. Lettow and the Kindergarten class are enjoying the morning coloring with the critters!

This Wednesday for Cookies and Conversation from 4:00 to 5:00 pm we will have a guest speaker from Crisis Intervention Center Starla Varrelman who will be talking with us about the services they offer in Franklin County. Please join us if you can!

4th grade students have been on a secret mission: to spread kindness to one another! Each student has an assigned friend and have been doing secret acts of kindness for them. They have been having a ball thinking of ways to be kind to their friend and guessing their own secret friend. The kindness sure seems to be spreading, as well as lots of smiles! The big friend reveal will be on Tuesday when we return to school!

1st grade has been working hard in math on tables and answering questions with the data that their table shows! We also collected our own data for favorite rainy day activities and put it into a table!

3rd grade has been studying light and lenses. Convex lenses are used in microscopes to magnify images. We are so lucky to have microscopes in our science room to help bring our learning alive.

1st grade has been learning about the sun, moon, earth, and stars! Today they got to practice being the moon and earth and how they orbit around the sun!

This year we received Finch Robots as part of the Governor’s STEM Scale Up awards. 4th grade has been using block coding with the Sphero Bolts. Today they transferred their knowledge of block coding to the Finch Bots!

3rd grade has been exploring different kinds of code and how different things can serve as input when coding. They had used Ozobots with markers as the input. Today they learned how to use block coding with the Ozobots!

5th grade worked on their knowledge of nouns, adjectives, verbs, and other parts of speech! They played blooket and were tasked with hacking passwords. How fun!!!

2nd grade students explored coding with Ozobots today during Innovation Club.
