2nd grade students practicing peeling and chopping potatoes for their recipe. The students finished writing out the ingredient list for mashed potatoes, and they got to taste test their recipe at the end. They will be making french fries with their potatoes next!

First grade wrapped up their pickle making today! Using cucumbers from the school garden (which they started from seed last spring!) and dill from the school gardens, they made refrigerator dill pickles and microwave sweet pickles over the last two weeks. They made some to taste test, some to sell to staff at school, AND today they made some to bring home and share with their families! We will refrigerate their pickles overnight and send them home with students tomorrow so be sure to check backpacks/bags! The pickles will need to be kept in the fridge. Although the first graders are such good pickle makers they say you'll probably eat them all up right away!

2nd grade students practiced adding the suffix -ing to action verbs today using window writing.

5th and 6th grade enjoyed science outside today!

Our 4th grade scientists have been busy! We are studying how living things (organisms) have structures and functions to help them survive. We are researching lots of plants and animals to learn about different ways they produce, protect, and feed themselves! We took some trips to our school farm and garden beds to investigate zucchini plants and chickens. Afterwards, we followed a recipe to whip up some tasty Air Fryer zucchini chips with our zucchini and eggs. YUM!

The 5th graders earned their PBIS goal and were able to enjoy root beer floats!
