We are pleased to announce that CAL has partnered with Prarie Ridge from Mason City to offer psychiatry and therapy services to our students and their families. A therpaist is available on-site at CAL for students, while Prarie Ridge provides a variety of services for families in our community. Our school counselor, Danielle Brood, is available to assist you in navigating these sevices to meet your family's needs. Additionally, you can find her contact information on the CAL Community School website under the "School Counselor" tab located in the parents and students section.
4th and 5th teamed up this morning to stack a set of cups without touching the cups with their hands. Thanks for some great teamwork!
3 year old Preschool learned about primary colors and experimented to discover you can mix them to create secondary colors!
6 piece LEGO Challenge. 4th graders were tasked with designing an innovative solution to a problem that may be common at a dairy farm. There was some very creative and analytical thinking done on our first day back! This ties into our studies of how technological advancements have changed and will continue to change the way people farm and how products/goods are made and shared globally.

5th grade designed and created festive launch/landing pads for drones today. Students were great pilots!
1st grade earned a PBIS reward and made and decorated sugar cookies!
5th grade used their knowledge of ratios and fractions to make multiple batches of brownies. They were delicious!
1st grade used the beebots for some coding yesterday and tried to get the reindeer to the grandma without hitting the snowballs!

1st and 4th worked together to make gingerbread ornaments for our trees at school!
4th grade wrapped up their castle engineering project by reading about castles in their castles! This project really exemplified teamwork, creativity, and problem solving.
Sweater Weather! 4th grade designed sweaters using their spelling list words. We have some designers in our class! 🧣🧤❄️❄️

6th grade spent some time using microscopes today! They were able to view slides of all sorts of neat things. Brain cells, blood cells, insect parts, and hair follicles were a few of their favorites! Students were able to correctly identify that all living things are made of cells.
1st grade and 4th grade buddied up to design some turkey disguises before enjoying our Thanksgiving Mini Meal!
